The summer is here and I remember all the summers we spent you playing little league ball. All those trips to all star tournaments and all the misquitos we fought! But those were the great memories! I love you son and miss you so very much!

Today is your 31st birthday, son. Wonder what you would be doing now, A Grown Man.... Momma Loves you and misses you so. The ache in my heart and arms is great, even after 14 years. I Love You and Miss You!! / Brandon Scott (Cousin)
As the 14th aniversary of your departure from this world approaches, I wonder how things would have been now. Where you would be and what you would be doing at this exact moment? Would you been rocking it out with the best of guitar players in the world, writing some of the greastest songs ever, or just staying home with your family? Whatever it would have been I am sure that you would have been great at it. I know that I have not expressed my feelings about you throughout the years, but make no mistake that I miss and love you everyday. For a long time I didn't want to let anyone know that I was hurting so bad about losing you because I just like to be secretive about that sort of stuff. I know that Granny and you are watching down upon us and making sure that we are safe. Tell her hi for me, give her a big hug, and that I try to keep a smile on my face all the time.
Your mom has accomplished many things since your passing and I know that you are extremely proud of her. She loves you a lot and misses you more than anyone else will ever know. I remember a time when your mom, you, and me stayed up till like midnight listening to old songs on the record player. We were laughing and making jokes about how old those songs were, but we didn't care. We just wanted to have a good time and stay up late. If you never knew Scotty you would have really enjoyed his company (though he did pick on me a lot as brother's do). He had a big heart and just wanted other people to like him for who he was. He made sure that others did not define him, but that he was an individual.
Though I don't play the guitar and definitely can't sing like you, I sure did learn how to be passionate about music from you. I played the same instrument as you in band and spend most of my time listening to a variety of music. Scotty I wish you were here. We would have had a great time. Someday we will all be reunited, but until then I will be thinking of you with each step I take in life.

Messege to Heaven Today / LaFreda Kilburn (Mom)
Son, I write today here and on a note in a balloon to send to you in Heaven. I miss you so much and love you with every breath I take. There are no words written to describe how much I wish I could be there to hold you again. God blesses me daily, but never enough to replace my love for you. Til I hold you again in our famous "Bear" hug! I love you, Son! Mom Close

Scotty Boy was his name!!! / Pat Treadwell (cousin)
Scotty was a good little boy with a cute little turned up nose. He was always smiling all the way across his face. He was such a joy to his mom, and his Granny & Grandad. They lived for him, and then for he and Brandon. I do so wish we could turn time back to the years when my Jennifer and Scotty would play G.I Joe, or basically whatever Scotty wanted to play. His Granny was so hurt from his loss that she could hear him calling her to come to him, and she did just that. So, someday when we all get to be at that great reunion I know they will be there to greet us, and I can't wait to finally see a real smile on his Mommy's face, and a twinkle in her eye. She has worked so hard to make sure Scotty's memory gets the attention he deserves. Close
I know you're proud / Cindy Outlaw (Mom's Friend ) Scotty, I know you are so proud of your Mom. She has done so much to reach out and minister to so many hurting people. She does all she does to honor you and the love she has for you. I know that you smile down upon her with each act of kindness that she does. I wish I could have known you...if you are all that your Mom says you are, I know I would have loved you too. Happy Heavenly Birthday!~Cindy Close

We regret that we didn't have the opportunity to know Scotty. He was an adorable baby and such a cute little boy. And, even at the young age of 16, obviously already such a special young man. We are glad that we had this opportunity to see these pictures from his life. We know that he is very proud of the legacy of love and comfort that has been carried on in his memory. He will never be forgotten. Love, Bob & Kathy Ogden

Scotty, I am so sorry you are not here to spend your 30th birthday with your Mom. You would be so proud of her. She works hard to help others who have lost a child. Wrap your loving arms around her to make this weekend full of wonderful memories of the time you both had together. Beth Close
